Joe Hachem has only won one tournament you might remember. Fortunately for him ,the first prize in that event was $7,500,000. Hachem became the World Series of Poker's all-time leading money winner when he defeated Steve Dannenmann to become the 2005 World Champion. He's since been passed, but he'll always be remembered for that remarkable accomplishment.

Hachem was a professional player for ten years before coming to the public's attention. Living in Melbourne, Australia, the forty-year old Hachem retired from his chiropractor practice, using poker to support his wife and two children.

Hachem was sitting on a smaller stack heading into day three when he won a three way pot against an unknown kid and long-time rounder Dewey Tomko. The winnings from that hand propelled him into contention for the chip lead, which he grabbed for a time on day four. Now I third, Joe has a very real chance to join the fraternity of players with both a WPT win and a WSOP championship. He'd also move back into second on the all-time tournament money list. Oh yeah, the cash would be nice too.
