Joe Sebok grew up as a fiercely competitive kid. He jumped headlong into any competitive endeavor he could find. However, at 5'8", his future in sports looked grim. After graduating from Berkeley, Sebok worked with many start-up dot-coms, but never found a passion for the business world. Then, one day, he got into a discussion with his stepfather. As it happened, his stepdad is one of the best-known poker players in the world, Barry Greenstein.

Convinced to give poker a go, Sebok plunged into the poker scene and landed at the 2005 World Series of Poker as a major force. He made two final tables and was suddenly recognized as someone who had a serious future in the game. Before long, he had a reputation as a player, commentator, author, and celebrity.

Since kicking off his poker career, Sebok has already earned more than $1.5 million in tournament winnings. While he has not yet captured a WPT or WSOP title, he has earned several first place finishes in other major tournaments.
