Layne Flack, known as "Back-to-back Flack" for winning consecutive poker World Series tournaments. He lives as fast as he plays and appears to be a dynamo in action at the poker table. Where other players sit solemnly concentrating, Layne is in constant motion. He is feared by opponents because of his unpredictability and aggressive style of play. He won the World Poker Tour's WPT Invitational Season One, beating some of poker's top pros. During his career Layne has won well over a million dollars. Layne who was raised in Montana, appears to be a frontier cowboy-type, but that is an illusion. Smart and ambitious, he had a facility with cards from the days of his youth when the family played pinochle. Upon graduating high school, he took a job in a casino that offered video poker and a couple of poker tables. After awhile he quit to go to college, pursuing a degree in business management, playing poker at night to earn enough to stay in school. His on-the-job training at the card table became so lucrative; he was too busy to finish his education. Flack began playing mostly in Montana where he was introduced to one of the country's top players, Huck Seed, a World Series winner, who encouraged him to start playing tournament poker. Layne too his friend's sound advice and moved to Las Vegas and within six weeks had won the Hall of Fame No Limit Texas Hold-em Tournament. It didn't take long for him to pull down his two World Series victories as well.
