McLean Karr’s star has been on the rise ever since his WPT victory at Season VIII’s Bay 101 Shooting Star event worth $878,500. Since winning Shooting Star, Karr has been on a tear. He made an appearance in the quarter final appearance in the WSOPE heads-up event, a win in the EPT London Turbo High Roller event forth over $420,000, an FTOPS 2-Day event victory, a WSOP final table appearance, and a win in a stacked Macau High Roller event.

In the spring of 2011, Karr picked up another WPT honor when he took down the High Roller event at WPT Vienna. Karr defeated a tough final table line-up that included Govert Metal and Tobias Reinkemeier. Karr added another €185,120 to his career earnings.

Between his live and online tournament winnings, Karr already has nearly $4 million in tournament earnings, which is pretty impressive considering he has only been playing the live circuit for a little over a year. A graduate of the Air Force Academy, Karr returned to his hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana after graduation, but now Karr calls New York City home. Manhattan may be his home base, but Karr spends most of his year travelling the circuit in both the United States and Europe.
