Born in Lafayette, California, Noah Jefferson grew up in San Francisco. It was during his youth that he came upon his penchant for gambling, as he and his friends gambled on everything – tennis, basketball, and other sports. They also played cards together through high school, and Noah did the same while he attended the University of California at Davis. After graduation, he took a year to study for and take the LSAT in preparation for attending law school, and during that time, he supported himself playing poker in local card rooms.

Noah began to attend the University of San Francisco, School of Law, but it was during that year that he became immersed in poker, as the boom had begun and he was in the middle of it. Enough success caused him to take a leave of absence from law school, and he has yet to return. With some intense study of the game and quite a bit of practice online, it was the live tournament circuit that drew him in. He had had numerous tournament wins and cashes over the past few years, and he felt it was time to take it up a notch.

Some of Noah’s tournament successes include a European Poker Tour third place finish at the London main event in 2005 for nearly $130,000, and six World Poker Tour cashes, one of which was the final table of the 2008 Bay 101 Shooting Stars. He finished in fourth place for his biggest live tournament cash to date of $265,000. While cash games in the Los Angeles area where he lives continue to be his forte and how he typically supports himself, he has been playing more tournaments, primarily WPT events. His background in mixed games gives him the variety to jump into any good cash game, and his tournament successes show that his skills are truly diverse.
