For some people, all it takes is a taste of success to get them wanting the whole meal. For Pete "The Beat" Giordano, that taste came during a break from his working man's life as a sales representative for Hewlett-Packard. Having played poker since he was young, Giordano already loved the game. So, when he heard that a big tournament was on its way to the Taj Mahal in nearby Atlantic City, he went down to see how he could fare. He took first place. For a younger man, that might have meant an immediate jump into professional poker. For Giordano, dedication to his job and family meant the decision would be a lot harder. The advent of online poker made Giordano's quest to be a pro a lot easier. Once he jumped online, he became one of the biggest forces in all of online poker. For several years, everybody knew the name "The Beat." It wouldn't be long before Giordano found his way back to the live stage and on his way to a serious poker career. Giordano's record is something many of his peers envy. During the first season of the World Poker Tour, Giordano made the final table of the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods Resort and Casino and placed fifth for more than $57,000. He's made the money in five other major WPT events and countless other tournaments during his poker career. Giordano has more than half a million dollars in live tournament winnings.
