Peter Roche wasn't even ten years old when his father first scolded him for playing poker. Roche was eight years old and had been winning money off his neighborhood friends in Dublin, Ireland. His father's lecture did little to deter Roche's play. The young Irishman only wanted to play more. In fact, for the rest of his youth, his only other real mission was to become a veterinarian. He readily admits, he didn't make the grades and instead fell back on the game of his youth. In 2001, Roche had some modest scores on the European poker circuit, but it wasn't until 2004 that the Dubliner made his first big mark on the poker world. He won a tournament and $100,000 in the European WSOP trial. Two months later, he made a final table at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. With his rush in effect, Roche headed to the World Poker Tour's Grand Prix de Paris in France. With as well as he'd been running, it was little surprise it he made it all the way to the final table for a fourth place finish. Since then, Roche has continued to do well in the poker world while spending time with his family and in other business interests.
