Philip Yeh grew up in Sweden with the same dreams as many children; he wanted to be an athlete, possibly a soccer pro. While exploring all of his options in his late teenage years, he began to hear about the growth of poker from friends, and he started watching the World Poker Tour on television. Beginning with some internet play, he found that he had a gift for the game, not to mention a growing passion for it. The legal age for casino patrons in Sweden is 20, and Philip began to frequent casinos at that age. Combined with his success in the online poker arena, he was a full-time professional poker player by the age of 20, and the experience of playing so many hours " not to mention the number of hands per hour " on the internet has enabled him to smoothly transition into cash games and tournament poker. And what he lacks in table experience, he makes up for in sheer eagerness and concentration. Philip began on the tournament circuit in March of 2006 with a ninth place finish at the Vienna Spring Poker Festival in a WSOP Trial event, then made his way to the final table of the WPT Grand Prix de Paris where he finished fifth. He cashed in a no limit hold'em event at the Austrian Classics a few months later, and achieved second and third place finishes at the Christmas Poker Week events in Gothenburg, the second place coming in the main event of the series. Through drive and enthusiasm for poker, he has the potential for a long career in poker.
