When you are a poker player and not yet 21 years-old, the summer is often a tough time of year. Your friends are off playing in Las Vegas at the World Series of Poker or the WPT Championship, and your options for live poker are rather limited. Many players simply sit out until they turn 21. Others, like Randal Flowers, opt instead to make WPT history.

Flowers, who is better known by his online screenname “RandALLin,” proved his poker skills extended beyond the computer in 2009 when he took down the WPT Spanish Championship in Barcelona, earning his first WPT title and picking up €277,000. It was an historical win not just for Flowers, but for the tour itself, as he surpassed Yevgeniy Timoshenko to become the youngest WPT winner in history at just 20 years of age.

Since then, Lukas Berglund has surpassed Flowers for the youngest WPT title holder, but in the fall of 2010, Flowers picked a record that is going to be tough to beat. At just 22 years of age, Flowers picked up his second WPT title at Season IX’s Festa al Lago event along with $831,500. Unlike the Spanish Championship, this win was in front of the WPT’s televised cameras and allowed Flowers to show off more than his card playing abilities. Over the course of the final table, Flowers cracked jokes, did impressions of poker pros including an uncanny rendition of Mike Sexton, and even treated television audiences to a victory belly roll.

The win made Flowers the youngest two-time winner in WPT history and helped to boost his lifetime earnings to more than $1.8 million after just three years on the live tournament circuit.
