Robert Border isn't usually very hard to find in a crowd. He's known for his distinctive hair and dress. During one televised final table appearance, Border sported a blue mohawk, although it could be any color on any given day. Border was born in Havelcok, North Carolina. He got into poker as a dealer and then a shift boss at the Bellagio. In 2003, Border decided to become a professional poker player. Since then, he has spent a lot of time playing online with his daughter rooting him on from their North Carolina home. In the poker world, philanthropist Barry Greenstein is known as the "Robin Hood of Poker." Border's friends and opponents have been known to call Border that as well. "My motto is: steal from the rich, hang out with the poor," he said. Border made the final table of UltimateBet's Aruba Poker Classic during Season 4 of the World Poker Tour. His fifth place finish earned him $150,000. Border says he's very superstitious. "I wear certain necklaces, certain bracelets, and I pray to God a lot," he says. When he's not playing poker, Border enjoys ATV riding, volleyball and softball.
