With his infectious laugh and jovial personality, Scott Seiver has a way of distracting people from the fact that he is one of the best players at the table. Seiver picked up poker while enrolled at Brown University, where he studied Computer Science and Economics. By the time he graduated in 2007, Seiver was an accomplished online player, as was his friend and fraternity brother, Isaac Haxton.

Not long after graduating, Seiver started finding live poker success. He won a WSOP bracelet in a $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Event in 2008, took third in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller event in 2009, and final tabled the first-ever NAPT Mohegan Sun Main Event in April of 2010. It seemed like Seiver found success everywhere, save for the World Poker Tour.

That all changed in May of 2011. After posting only two WPT cashes over the course of nearly four years on the WPT, Seiver finally made his first final table at the Season IX WPT World Championship. Seiver and fellow online pro Galen Hall came into the final neck and neck for the chip lead, but it was Seiver who came out on top, while Hall exited in third place. The $1,618,344 victory was Seiver’s biggest score to date, but more important than the money was the sense of satisfaction Seiver received after finally conquering the WPT on the biggest stage of the season.
