Stan Goldstein is one of those players who has not achieved the massive worldwide television fame, but who everyone in the poker world knows. A journeyman pro, Goldstein has been playing poker for years and is one of the most familiar faces around the California card tables. What began as high school hijinx with stud and lowball games eventually developed into a professional poker playing career.

Goldstein started off as a cash game player and realized he had the talent to be pro. However, once he entered the tournament world, he found he could parlay his cash game skill into a different kind of income. A seven card stud tournament win at the United States Poker Championships sealed the deal and Goldstein has been a winner on the tournament circuit ever since.

In the first season of the World Poker Tour, Goldstein placed third in the Legends of Poker main event in his native Los Angeles, earning more than $60,000. In the next season of the WPT, Goldstein finished on the TV bubble of the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods, finishing in seventh place for a $93,000 win. He's cashed in eight total WPT events and countless other tournaments across the United States. While he might not be the most famous player around, he's far from the least successful.
