Anyone who has played poker knows how good it feels to finally go on a rush. Temperance "Temp" Hutter knows it better than most. A Certified Public Account from Charlottesville, VA, Hutter spent more time playing low stakes poker as an amateur than he did working to get on the pro circuit. When he wasn't working or playing cards, he ran marathons, played tennis, and went skiing. He was a well-rounded man, with a healthy recreational life. While at a convention in Las Vegas in 2003, Hutter entered his first-ever tournament at the Mirage and ended up placing third. He wasn't sure how long he'd last. He ended up lasting longer than his wardrobe and had to buy new clothes to sit down at the final table. The result? A tough second place finish against Tuan Le. Hutter won $973,000 for his finish there. His rush had added more than a million bucks to his bankroll in less than three months. Hutter continues to play poker and has had several more cashes since his famous three-month rush.
