Denmark’s Theo Jorgensen caught the poker bug after a series of odd jobs led him to working as a dealer in a Copenhagen casino. In 2004, Jorgensen decided to cut his teeth as a player and hit the tournament circuit. After some in-the-money finishes at WPT events in Tunica and Aruba, Jorgensen found success back in Europe, final tabling the EPT Deauville Main Event in 2006. The next year he matched his fourth place showing in Deauville with another EPT final table in his hometown of Copenhagen. He followed that up by making the final table of the first-ever WSOP Europe Main Event, where he finished in eighth place.

From there, Jorgensen’s career started to heat up on and away from the felt. Jorgensen won a WSOPE bracelet in Omaha in 2008 and then picked up the biggest score of his career at the Grand Prix de Paris in 2010. Jorgensen bested a tough final table to pick up his first WPT title and €628,377 in prize money. Shortly after that, Jorgensen came up short of a WSOP Main Event final table, making a run in the 2010 Main Event, before ultimately busting in 30^th place.

Away from the felt, Jorgensen has drawn plenty of media attention thanks to his affable personality and his willingness to take part in some pretty remarkable events. In 2009, he agreed to a boxing match with fellow Dane, Gus Hansen. Jorgensen was scheduled to follow that up by taking part in a poker game in the sky, but ultimately withdrew, citing a fear of heights.

The fun-loving Jorgensen has more than $2.8 million in lifetime tournament earnings, which puts him behind only Peter Eastgate and Hansen on the all-time Danish money earner’s list.
