Tim West began playing poker on the Internet about four years ago but began taking it seriously at the age of 19. He took the time to study the game and soon realized that he had the skills to do extremely well. Soon, he was crushing nearly every online site, building a sizable bankroll, and ranked number one on a website that tracked online tournament players around the world. In late 2006, Tim played his first live tournament after his 21st birthday, which was a WPT main event. Though he didn't cash there, he played in a holiday tournament in Los Angeles " a $1500 No-Limit Hold'em event " and finished in second place for a payday of more than $87,000. With that success, he took to the $5000 NLHE event at Bellagio in December and placed second again, this time for over $180,000. And the cashes kept coming. Tim made it to his first televised final table only months after beginning his live poker career, and it was the prestigious WPT Celebrity Invitational event. He won his seat through the Bellagio event several months earlier, and he parlayed that seat into a third place finish at the final table. He followed that up with a 13th place finish at the WPT Shooting Stars event at Bay 101 later that same month, and during the 2007 World Series of Poker, he has cashed twice. At only 21-years old, this online pro turned live tournament whiz has impressed the poker community with his play and the professional manner in which he carries himself. He looks to have only touched the surface of a successful poker career.
