Tony Hartman, a gambler by nature and vocation, found poker by way of a different kind of felt. Hailing from the home state of Minnesota Fats, Hartman spent his early days in pool halls, hustling for money, and making cash pocket by pocket. One night at a game, he was invited to a poker game. He was immediately fascinated by the nuances of the game. Moreover, he was intrigued by the money he could make. Hartman immersed himself in poker. Unlike pool, where you have to spot the sucker a couple of balls, the poker table offered a place where Hartman never had to give his opponents a head start. By 1993, Hartman was cashing in World Series of Poker events. It was only a beginning. In Season 2 of the World Poker Tour, Hartman traveled to Tunica for the World Poker Open. He made it all the way to the final table and finished sixth for a $120,000 payday. Just three months later, Hartman cashed for $30,000 in the World Poker Tour Championship. Since then, Hartman has remained a familiar face on the poker scene and at final tables. In addition to World Series of Poker final tables, Hartman won the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha Championship at the 2007 WPT World Poker Open.
