Were it not for Nick Schulman, New York businessman Vadim Trincher might not ever have taken up poker at all. As Schulman tells it, he never taught Trincher the game, but after sitting behind Schulman and watching him play, Trincher picked up the game in no time. The New Yorker started playing in tournaments in 2005 and made deep runs in numerous WPT and WSOP events. After four years of close calls and no final tables, Trincher had his big breakthrough at Foxwoods when he defeated fellow New Yorker and poker pro Amnon Filippi heads-up for the honor of Season VII Foxwoods Poker Classic Champion.

Trincher earned $731,079 for his win at Foxwoods and he wasted no time putting that money to use. Just one month after winning his WPT title, Trincher made national news when he purchased a $5 million condo in the Trump Tower in New York City.

Dividing his time between the business and poker worlds, Trincher has still found time to rack up over $1.2 million in lifetime tournament earnings.
