There's something about the games our grandparents teach us. We carry them with us like old memories and tattered photographs. Vic Fey's grandfather taught him to play poker. It was a game Fey didn't play much in his adult life, laying it down for a doctors harried life. In Clinton, Oklahoma, he deliver's babies for a living. "There is definitely a correlation between playing poker and delivering babies," Fey said. It's hours of boredom intermixed with moments of sheer terror.

Like old memories, Fey's fascination with his grandfather's game resurfaced when the World Poker Tour hit the airwaves. Fey went out and bought every poker book he could find and read every one. "I'm going write a poker book. I've got the title already," Fey said. It's gong to be "How to Read Poker Books." Fey said, "he didnt just read SuperSystem. I memorized it," he said. I went into this with the philosophy that if I studied poker as hard as I studied medicine, maybe I'd have some luck. It paid off.

Fey won an online Qualifier that sent him all the way to Aruba where he played against some of the worlds top players and made the final table. He's a man who spends his life bringing new life into the world in one of the most unpredictable professions. One would think he might look for something a little more calm for his next adventure. Not so. "I like poker", Fey said, "because it's the only thing on Earth I find less predictable than a female".
