He may only be in his early twenties, but Yevegeniy Timoshenko is already an accomplished pro. The Ukranian-born Timoshenko cut his teeth on poker by playing online under screennames like" Jovial Gent", "CONVIVIAL GUY" and "bballer88." The online poker scene treated Timoshenko well. Over the years, he amassed more than $5 million in online earnings, including a win in the 2009 PokerStars WCOOP Main Event worth more than $1.7 million.

Timoshenko may be one of the most accomplished pros in online poker history, but his skills extend beyond the virtual felt. Before he even turned 21, Timoshenko hit the European and Asian poker circuits, picking up an APT title in Macau and a third place finish in a WSOPE event. Once he was eligible to play in the States, Timoshenko wasted no time picking up one of the most coveted titles in poker—WPT World Champion. Timoshenko won the Season VII WPT World Championship at Bellagio less than two weeks after his 21^st birthday. That victory, worth $2,149,960, is his biggest career cash to date.

Since winning the WPT World Championship, Timoshenko hit the live circuit. In the summer of 2011, Timoshenko almost picked up a WSOP bracelet to go along with his WPT title. Timoshenko made a deep run in the prestigious $25,000 Heads-Up Championship at the WSOP, but lost to fellow young gun Jake Cody in the final round. Timoshenko made another final table that summer, finishing fourth in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event. At just 23, Timoshenko has combined live and online earnings in excess of $9 million and is one of the top young talents of the poker world.
