Young Cho was born in South Korea and moved here, settling in Enid, Oklahoma with his wife Yoon-Chan just over ten years ago. They opened a jewelry store and began raising their family of three children. Young took up playing poker and started losing very badly. So much so that he ended up having to sell his store to pay his debts. Finally though, he turned the corner; he won a $500 buy-in tournament back home where he won $57,000. Now, he's on the cusp of something much bigger. At Tunica, Cho entered a $1000 satellite and won a $10,000 seat to enter the WPT's World Poker Open. Young played with controlled aggression to constantly build his stack in an impressive display of force. The tournament at the Gold Strike is Cho's first World Poker Tour main event and he became a massive chip leader heading into our television table. He took the lead early in day four, accumulated more than half of the chips in play, and never looked back. In 2004, Cho finished in the money at a World Poker Tour's LA Poker Classic side event coming in at 33rd place. He is guaranteed a better finish in Mississippi since he's already made the final table. No matter what happens, this amateur player has learned some hard lessons and is ready to earn some hard cash. Young Cho has taken his game to a new level and has become a player to watch out for!
