Who Will Break the WPT's $1 Billion Barrier?

As we’ve mentioned, the WPT is on the verge of awarding a total of $1 billion in prize money over all 16 seasons, and that billion-dollar barrier will be broken here at the WPT Legends of Poker.

There is a celebration party tonight that coincides with the dinner break, but that’s only the beginning.

Once the prizepool is released after registration closes on Monday, the WPT will announce which payout spot will represent the $1 billion mark. Whoever is eliminated in that payout spot will receive, as a bonus, a seat into next season’s WPT Legends of Poker and accommodations here at the Bicycle Hotel & Casino.

It could create an interesting dynamic as the bonus prize could incentivize some short stacks to take additional risks with a one-spot shot at a bonus prize.

We won’t know which payout spot will represent the one billionth dollar in WPT history until Monday, so stay tuned.
