An incredible prize has been added for the winner of the inaugural Devilfish Cup at the partypoker World Poker Tour® UK festival. Not only will the winner of the event receive the lion’s share of the prize pool, but he or she will walk away with a BMG Special Guitar signed by Queen lead guitarist, Brian May.
Thanks to May, a world famous English musician and co-founder of the rock band Queen, the winner of the Devilfish Cup will score this outstanding addition to the prize pool as a one-of-a-kind collector’s item. The guitar, inspired by May’s legendary Red Special, is a special edition of his own brand Brian May Guitar and has achieved iconic status and its own unique place in rock history. It’s even been crowned“Best Guitar of the Year” by guitarist magazine Guitar Bible.
The Devilfish Cup features a £1 million guarantee with a buy-in of £5,000 plus a £300 donation. The £300 donation will go to Marie Curie Foundation, with a minimum £60,000 donation, to help people and their families fight against terminal illness. The action was launched by Rob Yong, founder of Dusk Till Dawn, the largest poker room in UK, and Simon Trumper. Both were close friends of Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott.
“One of my lasting memories of Devilfish was the many nights we had singing while he played guitar, so I know how special this Brian May signed guitar will be as a prize for the winner of the Devilfish Cup,” said Trumper. “As a trophy, the guitar really is as unique as Devilfish was.”
The Devilfish Cup event will be followed by the WPT® Players’ Party, where rock band The Shakes will perform at Dusk Till Dawn Casino on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016. Filling dance floors wherever they play, The Shakes are the Midlands premier soul party band. Playing classic tunes by Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Jackie Wilson, Van Morrison, the Rolling Stones, and Queen, to name a few, the band is filled with stunning musicians with charismatic stage presence and an abundance of energy. It will truly be a night to remember.

Highlighting the partypoker WPT UK festival is the £2,200 Main Event taking place Nov. 2-6. The Main Event features one re-entry per starting day, of which there are two, and comes with a £1 million guarantee.
The WPT500 takes place Oct. 28-31 and also features a £1 million guarantee.
