With 3,276,000 chips, Kane Kalas leads the surviving 34 players after Day 3 of the partypoker WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open. Kane, son of legendary Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas, is no stranger to success at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa – he finished runner-up to Darren Elias last season in the WPT Borgata Poker Open, earning more than $500,000.

Other top stacks were bagged up by Season XIV Borgata Poker Open champion David Paredes (2,500,000), Rafael Yaralieyev (1,937,000), Keith Morrow (1,805,000), Denis Gnidish (1,716,000), and John-Allan Hinds (1,538,000). Familiar faces still in the hunt for the final table include Brian Altman, Aaron Overton, Joe McKeehen, Rex Clinkscales, Mukul Pahuja, Amir Babakhani, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, and defending WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open champion Aaron Mermelstein.

Also in the hunt is Cate Hall, who just took the lead in the Hublot WPT Player of the Year race by cashing in this event. If Hall reaches the final 18, she’ll increase her lead with even more points, though fellow POY contenders Paredes, Mermelstein, and Altman are also still alive and keeping the pressure on.

A total of 150 players started the day from the overall field of 1,171 entrants. The top 110 reached the money, and notables that cashed were Season XIII Hublot WPT Player of the Year Anthony Zinno (106th), Joe Kuether (104th), Sam Chartier (93rd), Paul Volpe (88th), Anthony Gregg (86th), Lily Kiletto (80th), Sheddy Siddiqui (79th), Adam Levitan (76th), Steve Brecher (74th), Matt Brady (73rd), Kevin Saul (62nd), Billy Pilossoph (60th), Barry Hutter (57th), Ken Aldridge (53rd), Jim Calderaro (51st), John Gale (46th), Kunal Patel (40th), David Diaz (39th), and Day 2 chip leader Cong Pham (37th).

Return to WPT.com Thursday at 12:00 noon ET for continuing coverage as the field plays down for the six seats at Friday’s WPT Final Table, which will be live-streamed on Twitch, YouTube, and PlutoTV.
