First of Two Flights for $3 Million Guaranteed WPT® Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship Kicks Off January 31

Los Angeles, CA (January 25, 2016) — Season XIV of the World Poker Tour® continues on Sunday with Day 1A of the $3 million guaranteed WPT® Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship Event, and the action is already underway in this remarkable $6.7 million guaranteed festival at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. On Saturday, Jason Loehrs topped the live-streamed final table of Event #1: Borgata $2 Million Guaranteed DeepStack, outlasting a record-breaking field of 5,101 entries to win $383,431.
Season XIII WPT World Championship winner Asher Conniff also reached the final table, eventually bowing out in seventh place and pocketing $62,839. The top 500 finishers all earned a piece of the massive, $2.47 million prize pool.
If history is any indication, the turnout for Event #10: Borgata $1 million guaranteed DeepStack NLH, beginning on January 26, and the $3 million guaranteed WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship Event, beginning on January 31, will be massive as well. The WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship Event features a $3,500 buy-in and unlimited re-entries through Level 8 on both Day 1A and Day 1B. Players who participate in multiple starting flights may choose their best stack for the start of Day 2, and players may buy-in directly before the start of Day 2 as well.
The live-streamed WPT final table kicks off at 12 pm on Friday, February 5. Fans are welcomed to root on their favorite players as they chase World Poker Tour glory and the lion’s share of the multimillion-dollar prize pool.

In addition to the $3 million guaranteed WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship Event, the highly-anticipated $2,150 buy-in heads-up tournament kicks off on January 30, and players who fail to put together a deep run in the Championship Event can hop into the $1,060 buy-in Second Chance Turbo on February 2.
