The action heats up on October 28 with the $5,000 buy-in High Roller, and the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic Main Event begins on October 30, concluding with the final table on November 1.

In Season XIII, American Dylan Wilkerson etched his name onto the venerable WPT Champions Cup™ in South Africa, defeating local Richard Barnard heads up to win the title. Wilkerson was joined by fellow Americans Aaron Overton and Seth Berger at the final table. Lacey Jones and McLean Karr both reached the money, while Vanessa Selbst was unable to add a cash in South Africa to her poker résumé.

“My experience in South Africa was phenomenal from start to finish,” says Wilkerson, the defending champion. “The staff at Emperors Palace ran a great tournament series, and my time spent both on safari and visiting Cape Town was second to none. I can’t wait to head back in October.”

“Once again we are very proud to be hosting another prestigious event with our international partners at World Poker Tour,” said Bob Yearham, CEO of Peermont Gaming. “The event this year has an added hint of local flavor, as it is running parallel with the Rugby World Cup and South Africa’s beloved Springboks, doing battle with various opponents over in the UK.  All of the games in the World Cup can of course be viewed live at Emperors Palace during the course of the poker festival.
