On Sunday, after more than 8 hours of play, Jose Lopez was crowned the first ever Multi Venue Series WPT National Iberia champion, outlasting a field of 483 entries to capture the top prize of €80,000 from the €333,333 Guaranteed prize pool.  Lopez defeated Alexandre Fradin heads up, who earned €49,000 for his efforts.

The Multi Venue Series kicked off simultaneously on Thursday, May 12 at Casino Gran Madrid, Casino Espinho and Casino Barcelona simultaneously. With two starting flights at each venue, the final numbers looked like this:

– Casino Espinho 196 entries
– Casino Barcelona 136 entries
– Casino Gran Madrid 151 entries

The payout rewarded the top 49 players in the €750 buy-in Main Event, and the final 35 players traveled to Madrid on the 21st and 22nd of May to compete for the WPT National Iberia Title.

The next edition of the Multi Venue Series WPT National Iberia will kick off in October, and will be followed by a third edition in January of 2017. More information are available on the WPT website.
