Kicking off July 28, 2017, is the Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker festival of events. It’s a schedule that includes 26 events, buy-ins ranging from $75 to $4,300, and more than $2.3 million guaranteed and an estimated $7 million in total prize pools.
The premier event is the Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker $4,000 Main Event, taking place August 25-31, featuring three starting flights and registration open until the start of Day 2. The entire festival runs July 28 through August 31.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the other highlights of the Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker schedule.
$100,000 Guarantee Opener
The Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker opens with the $350 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack event that boasts a $100,000 guarantee on the prize pool. This is a two-day event running July 28-29, and players begin will 50,000 in tournament chips. Reentry is allowed.
$200,000 Guarantee No-Limit Hold’em
The second big event on the schedule is the $240 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event with a $200,000 guarantee on the prize pool. Reentry is allowed, and there are six starting flights, with two per day across July 29-31.
Players in this event are allowed to play more than one starting flight. Qualifying for Day 2 more than once will earn you $1,500 in cash.
This event also allows Day 2 entry for $1,500. Whereas entering on one of the three Day 1s gets you 20,000 in starting chips, entering on Day 2 for $1,500 gets you 130,000 in tournament chips.
$500,000 Guarantee Quantum Reload No-Limit Hold’em
The $240 buy-in, $500,000 Quantum Reload No-Limit Hold’em starts August 4 and has 10 starting flights, with two per day from August 4-8. Players start with 20,000 in tournament chips, and each field will advance the top 10 perfect of the field to Day 2.
If you reach Day 2, you earn $400 in cash. If you qualify for Day 2 more than once, you’ll earn an additional $1,100 bonus for a total of $1,500.
If you’d like to skip the Day 1s and register on Day 2, you may do so for $1,750. This will get you 200,000 in tournament chips.
$1 Million Guarantee Mega Millions XVII
With a $1 million guarantee on the prize pool, the WPT Legends of Poker Mega Millions XVII is a can’t-miss event on the Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker schedule. The event features a very accessible price point, with a buy-in of $160 and one optional add-on of $100. Players start with 5,000 in tournament chips and the add-on gets you an additional 8,000 in chips.
The WPT Legends of Poker Mega Millions XVII starts August 11 and will hold several starting flights through August 21. Advance to Day 2 more than once and receive $3,600.
Players are allowed to enter directly to Day 2, which takes place on August 22, for $4,300. This will allow you to skip the starting flights and start with 250,000 in tournament chips.
$100,000 Guarantee Big H.O.R.S.E.
The entire Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker schedule is filled with fun events, and one of the most unique is the Big H.O.R.S.E. event that comes with a $100,000 guarantee. In this event, the Omaha portion will be played as Big ‘O’ to spice things up a bit.
The Big H.O.R.S.E. has a handful of starting flights. The first three, taking place once a day August 23-25, have a $240 buy-in. The second three, taking place August 26-28, have a buy-in of $350. Players may play multiple flights, and they will receive $2,000 if they qualify for Day 2 more than once.
