Darrel Dier topped a field of 216 players to win the WPTDeepStacks NorCal Main Event on Monday night at the Win-River Resort and Casino, earning $48,598 in prize money, a $3,000 Championship package, and the WPTDeepStacks trophy. Dier topped Russell Garrett after less than an hour of heads-up play, when Dier’s pocket threes held up in a race situation.
Garrett earned $34,096 for his efforts.

In addition to the final-table contestants, two WPTDeepStacks Player of the Year contenders also cashed in the event. WPTDS Ambassador Tristan Wade cashed in 23rd place, good for $1,941, and Rex Clinkscales finished in 15th place, earning $2,912.
