Season 3 of the WPTDeepStacks tour rolled on this past weekend with a stop in Arizona at Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson. The $1,100 Main Event attracted 286 entries and generated a prize pool of $274,420. Emerging victorious was Jim Rankin, taking the $37,346 top prize.

The final five players opted to chop up the remaining prize money, with each taking $31,196 and leaving $10,000 and the $3,000 Championship package on the table to play for. Those five players were Rankin, Balram Bhandari, Sean Berrios, Ajay Gnanasambanthan, and Chad Mizner.
After the deal was made, the eliminations came quickly to get down to heads-up play. Rankin started with the lead over Bhandari — 4.3 million to 2.9 million — and then they made a second deal that would divvy up the remaining prize money and award Bhandari with the $3,000 Championship package.
In the end, Rankin won the event and was awarded $37,346 in prize money. Bhandari took second for $35,346, but he also got the $3,000 Championship package.
