Paul Peru "Costs Himself" Against Andrew Moreno

Nov 27, 2021

We pick up the action on a flop of Diamond JDiamond 8Diamond 6 and Paul Peru (bottom left) checks. Andrew Moreno (bottom right) bets 2,500 and Peru check-raises to 8,000. Moreno calls.

The dealer burns and turns the Club 8 and Peru checks. Moreno starts to put a bet together and gather what looks like 8,000 in his hand and starts a motion forward, but before the chips leave Moreno’s hand, Peru moves all his chips forward and announces all-in.

“That’s a motion forward,” Peru says as the floor is called over. “O no, I cost myself, I’m working on no sleep, I’m sorry.”

The floor rules that Moreno has not acted as no chips touched the felt. As a result of the ruling, Moreno checks.

The river Spade Q completes the board, and Peru bets 10,000. Moreno goes into the tank and shows Peru the Spade 8 before tossing his cards into the muck.

“I had a monster. I was hoping you had the nut flush,” Paul says. “I don’t know. Maybe you hustled me,” Moreno replies.
