WPT® World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas Takes Over Las Vegas December 3-23

The World Poker Tour® and Wynn Las Vegas are partnering for the third consecutive year to host the WPT® World Championship from December 3-23 at the renowned Las Vegas resort.

Las Vegas, NV (April 4, 2024) The World Poker Tour® and Wynn Las Vegas are partnering for the third consecutive year to host the WPT® World Championship from December 3-23 at the renowned Las Vegas resort. The festival will serve as the pinnacle of Season XXII of the World Poker Tour and will crown a new World Champion.

“With great pride, we unveil the festival dates for the highly anticipated 2024 WPT World Championship,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “The tradition continues as we enter our third year alongside the incredible Wynn Las Vegas team, so mark your calendars in preparation for what is sure to be another memorable December.”

In 2023, the WPT World Championship festival at Wynn Las Vegas drew a massive crowd of players from all over the world. A total of 33,712 entries were generated, which resulted in more than $100 million in total prize money awarded. There were 23 tournaments across the festival schedule, with 14 generating a prize pool of at least $1 million.

“We are ecstatic to continue our partnership with the World Poker Tour for the third consecutive year,” said Ryan Beauregard, executive director of poker operations at Wynn Las Vegas. “Over the coming months, we’ll work diligently to craft an event schedule poker players from all over the world won’t want to miss.”

Many WPT records were set over the course of last year’s festival, including significant records in the marquee events. The $1,100 buy-in WPT Prime Championship set the overall WPT attendance record for a live WPT event with 10,512 entries, generating a prize pool of more than $10 million. Additionally, the $10,400 buy-in WPT World Championship, which sported the largest guaranteed prize pool in live tournament poker history at $40 million, set a WPT Main Tour attendance record with 3,835 entrants. Ultimately, Dan Sepiol was the last player standing, earning the grand prize of $5,282,954 for his momentous first-place finish.
