History

WPT Prime Championship Debuts at Wynn Las Vegas

WPT Prime was launched at the beginning of World Poker Tour’s 20th season with a mission to bring the WPT Main Tour experience to new venues and locales around the world. Taking the place of WPT DeepStacks, the WPT Prime tour traversed the world in Season 20, hitting Australia, Vietnam, Madrid, Cambodia, and Taiwan before returning to Las Vegas to hold the WPT Prime Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.

The $2,000,000 GTD tournament will serve as the final note on a successful inaugural tour for WPT Prime, which broke multiple attendance records over the course of the year. Poker players resonated well with the added features of WPT Prime tour stops, which includes action clocks, winner trophies, and in-depth event coverage from the WPT digital content team. WPT Prime events are also eligible for the WPT Player of the Year Leaderboard, which will award $30,000 in prizes at the end of Season 20.
