WPT Prime Gold Coast is returning to Australia after an exciting visit in June of 2022 when WPT Prime stopped in the outback as a part of WPT Prime’s inaugural season. The Star Gold Coast will once again host a festival during this season's WPT Prime schedule where players from around the globe will gather to play in the WPT Prime Gold Coast Main Event.
This event marks the sixth time that the WPT has visited Australia. It first arrived as WPTDeepstacks in 2019 then returned for WPT Deepstacks again in 2021 followed by one WPT Deepstacks event, one WPT Prime stop, and one WPT Main tour stop in 2022.
In 2022, WPT Prime Season 1, the WPT Prime Gold Coast Main Event boasted an impressive field of 896 entrants and a total prize pool of $1,191,680 AUD. In last season’s WPT Prime Gold Coast Main Event, Australian native Yang Lei outlasted a field of 896 entrants and was crowned a WPT Prime Champion. Lei was awarded a WPT Prime trophy along with $152,710 for first place. This season’s WPT Prime Gold Coast festival will feature a variety of side events leading up to the $2,000 AUD buy-in Main Event beginning on March 2.

WPT returns to Playground from May 9-22 for a festival chalk full of events, including a prominent Meet-Up Game (MUG) taking place May 14 with WPT talent, WPT Global ambassadors, and poker personalities.
Poker players should make sure they have their passports ready as WPT is now set for the second half of Season XXII. The schedule includes four Main Tour stops and four festivals on the award-winning WPT Prime Tour.
The 2024 World Poker Tour® season continues to expand as the schedule is bolstered by a trip to the Great White North. WPT® Montreal will bring three Championship events across a 14-day festival to Playground.
