$1,100 PLO/NLH: Roy Moffitt and Jordan Spurlin Bust Out in a Tie for 47th Place to Burst the Money Bubble

Dec 5, 2023

In Hand #3 of hand-for-hand play on the Money Bubble, there are two preflop all-in situations at two different tables. Once action finishes everywhere else, they reveal their cards and run the boards.

At Table 38, Jisup Hwang moves all in from the cutoff for more than 600,000, and Roy Moffitt calls all in from the button for about 230,000 with Heart QClub Q.

Hwang turns over Spade KClub 3, and Moffitt needs his queens to hold to stay alive.

The board comes Diamond ASpade 9Diamond 5Club 8Heart K, and Hwang spikes a king on the river to crack Moffitt’s queens, winning the pot to eliminate Moffitt on the Money Bubble.

Jisup Hwang  –  885,000  (89 bb)
Roy Moffitt  –  Eliminated

At Table 34, Jordan Spurlin is all in from the small blind for 51,000 with Heart KClub Q, and he needs to improve to stay alive against the Spade AHeart 8 of Filippos Stavrakis in the big blind.

The board comes Club AClub JHeart 2Heart 5Heart J, and Spurlin flops a gutshot straight draw, but improves no further. Stavrakis wins the pot with two pair, aces and jacks, to eliminate Spurlin on the Money Bubble.

Jordan Spurlin  –  Eliminated

With simultaneous eliminations on the Money Bubble at two different tables, they receive a tie for 47th place and chop the payout. (Spurlin wins the flip and is awarded the extra dollar.)

Roy Moffitt  –  Eliminated in a Tie for 47th Place  ($1,144)

The remaining 46 players are in the money, guaranteed at least $2,289 each.
