A Champion Will be Crowned in the 2021 WPT Russia Main Event

At noon local time, the final table of the 2021 World Poker Tour Russia Main Event will commence with six players out of 251 entries remaining. The flagship tournament of the festival featured a buy-in of ₽245,000/$3,328 and the biggest slice of the ₽54,247,551/$726,832 prize pool will be awarded today.

Host country Russia will aim to keep the title on home soil as five of the six contenders are from Russia. However, Serbia’s Vladimir Bozinovic is also in the mix and has retained his chance to win a WPT Main Event for the second time following his victory at WPT Baden all the way back in 2013.

Bozinovic made the trip to the stunning Casino Sochi in the Krasnaya Polyana with fellow countrymen Danilo Velasevic and Vlada Stojanovic, the latter of which finished second in this very event one year ago. Will Bozinovic finish one spot higher and further etch his name in the history books of the WPT? He starts the final table third in chips with 1,190,000 but is more than one double-up away from taking the top spot.

Maksim Sekretarev leads the pack with 3,340,000, followed by Ravil Khamatgareev with 2,905,000. Behind Bozinovic, Andrey Volkov (1,035,000) and Sergey Bobrik (980,000) are separated by one big blind only and Vanush Mnatsakanyan (545,000) is the shortest stack in contention.

The action will resume with 22 minutes remaining in level 28 at blinds of 25,000/50,000 with a big blind ante of 50,000 and the seat assignments are as follows.

Seat 2: Vanush Mnatsakanyan (Russia) – 545,000 (11 bb)
Seat 3: Ravil Khamatgareev (Russia) – 2,905,000 (58 bb)
Seat 4: Andrey Volkov (Russia) – 1,035,000 (21 bb)
Seat 5: Vladimir Bozinovic (Serbia) – 1,190,000 (24 bb)
Seat 6: Maksim Sekretarev (Russia) – 3,340,000 (67 bb)

The six finalists are guaranteed at least ₽2,477,300/$33,183 and the top prize of ₽11,996,600/$160,694 awaits for the eventual champion, who will see their name engraved in the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.
