A Strange Odyssey for David Williams

Mar 12, 2007

On a board of [Kc4d3cQs9c] David Williams bets T11,500 and Cyndy Violette calls. Violette flips over pocket aces and Williams flips over the [Qc10c]. Williams takes down the pot, but practically jumps out of his seat when he realizes that if he had raised Violette T50 more he could have collected the $5,000 bounty on her head.

On the very next hand Violette moves all-in for T50 and seat four raises to T2,500. Williams re-raises to T10,000 and seat nine calls. Seat four also calls, going all-in for his last T5,000. There are now two side pots going on the hand and the flop comes [8d6h4h]. Williams bets T30,000 and seat nine folds. Williams then flips over the [Qc8c], Violette flips over the [Jd8s], and seat four flips over the [8h6c]. The turn and river cards are inconsequential. Seat four takes down the pot and the $5,000 bounty on Violette. Williams is beaten, but still sitting pretty with T77,000.
