fun fact for those of you at home, to signal the breaks here in barcelona they are actually using the “boww-boww-chicka-chicka” sound from ferris bueller’s day off. i can’t make this stuff up.

i had a few annoying situations come up this level, also i was moved to a seemingly tougher table including alan smurfit, jani sointula, and a scandi-spikey hair that i recognize from wsop plo final table. one hand i had KQ in a 5 way unraised pot in the SB, this was shortly after i got moved, flop was K68 with two spades, i checked, it checked to a late position guy who bet small and the button called, now i check-raised to 2000. the sb, a young spanish kid i didn’t recognize, thought a bit and flat-called 2000 from the BB which worried me a little bit, and now the utg guy insta-slams his 7000 in the middle all-in. i pretty much put him on the nut flush draw but i had no idea what the middle guy could have and he had quite a bit more chips left so i folded, the middle guy ended up calling and his 97o straight draw beat the other guy’s AT spades. so i probably could have won that pot, but oh well. here’s one for only the hardcore poker fans out there, what do you do when james hoeppner raises from early position and alan smurfit reraises right behind him and you have two queens? i folded, but from talking to alan i think it might have been wrong. 17000 at the break.
