Andrews the Inscrutable

Oct 1, 2017

The board reads Club 5Diamond 5Heart 9Heart 2, and after Jeremy Menard leads from the big blind for 11,000, Cherish Andrews waits a while and then calls, bringing the pot up around 45,000.

The river is the Spade 9, putting a second pair on the board, and Menard checks. Andrews again pauses just a beat, then bets 35,000. Menard shows some consternation as he considers what to do, then finally lets his hand go.

“I told you… she always bluffs,”  says a player from across the table, and Andrews grins.

“I do not!” she answers. Whether or not that was a bluff, no one knows, either.

Andrews has about 160,000 now, while Menard has 18,000.
