Timothy Ryan Kelly Doubles Thru Christian Rudolph

With the final board showing Spade 5Diamond 4Diamond 2Spade 7Diamond 6 and 6.44 million already in the pot, chipleader Christian Rudolph bet 4.76 million from UTG+1.

Timothy Ryan Kelly, who started the hand second in chips about 600K behind Rudolph, went into the tank for nearly a full minute before moving all in for 13.30 million.

Then it was Rudolph’s turn to go into the tank, using almost the entire 85 seconds in their time bank before calling with Spade 8Heart 8 for a rivered eight-high straight.

But Kelly turned over Diamond QDiamond 3 for a rivered queen-high diamond flush to win the biggest pot of the tournament so far, catapulting into a gigantic chip lead with 33.04 million. Rudolph was knocked all the way down to about five big blinds.

Timothy Ryan Kelly  –  33.04 million  (236 bb)
Christian Rudolph  –  670,000  (5 bb)

Shortly after this, Christian Rudolph was eliminated in 40th place. (Adding insult to injury, Rudolph was one spot shy of a pay jump.)

Christian Rudolph  –  Eliminated in 40th Place  ($3,664)
