Hand #209: Reiji Kono limps in from the button and Bien Mai checks to see a flop of Spade AHeart KSpade 8, on which Mai check-calls a bet of 300,000.

After the Spade 7 turn, the same action repeats albeit for 1,200,000 and that leads them to the Diamond 7 river.

Mai checks the third street in a row and Kono announces a bet of 3,500,000. After giving his opponent a brief stare down, Mai moves all-in and Kono instantly calls.

Mai tables the Club QClub 7 for trips sevens and Kono already celebrates before flashing the Heart 8Heart 7 for a full house.

As a large rail gathers around the table, some whispers of “what a setup hand” emerges from the bystanders.

Kono not only wins a six-figure cash prize and the WPT Prime Main Event trophy but also the entry to the $10,400 WPT World Championship plus airfare and accommodation.
