Bob Mather Knocks Out a Short Stack

Aug 27, 2014

Three players see a flop of [AdAc8c]. The small blind checks, the UTG player bets 15,000, and Bob Mather min-raises to 30,000. The small blind folds, and the UTG player calls.

The turn card is the [2h], and the UTG player moves all in for 40,000. Mather quickly calls with [As10s] for trip aces, and his opponent turns over [8h7h] for two pair, aces and eights — he’s drawing dead.

The meaningless river card is the [Kc], and Mather wins the pot with his trip aces to eliminate the other player from the tournament.

Bob Mather  –  293,000  (58 bb)
