Brian Altman has made four very deep runs so far this season to give himself a big lead in the Hublot WPT Player of the Year race.

Altman started off this season by finishing 10th at the WPT Legends of Poker back in September, and then he followed that up with a third-place finish at WPT Maryland Live! Casino. Once the calendar flipped to 2020, Altman only got hotter, winning the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open, and then final tabling the televised WPT Borgata Poker Open, which will be played down to a winner on April 1st.

Altman officially has 2,100 POY points, but he’s guaranteed between 800 and 1,400 more depending on where he finishes at the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open.

The second spot on the POY leaderboard belongs to Eric Afriat, who just joined the elite club of three-time WPT champions by winning the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic. Combined with his ninth-place finish at the WPT Five Diamond Poker Classic, Afriat has 1,700 points coming into WPT Rolling Thunder.

Here is the current top of the leaderboard from the current standings:

1.  Brian Altman  –  2,900 – 3,500 pts
2.  Eric Afriat  –  1,700 pts
3.  Donald Maloney  –  1,500 pts
4.  Alex Foxen  –  1,450 pts
5.  Toby Joyce  –  1,400 pts
