Bryan Huang Leads the Field in Chips and in Earnings

Huang Diwei
American poker fans looking through the names in the chip counts here in Beijing may not be familiar with any of them, but that does not mean there aren’t accomplished players left in the field. Recently eliminated Eddy Liang is a sponsored pro for Ourgame and Gao Wenling is a Poker King sponsored pro who is still making a run in this event as well.

In addition to these Chinese pros, the chip leader is the all-time earnings leader in Singapore. Bryan Huang AKA Huang Diwei is the only player in the field with more than a million dollars in lifetime tournament earnings. Huang’s poker career dates back a decade and includes several notable scores like the final table of the Sydney Poker Cup and appearances at the Main Event final tables of Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) events in both Seoul and Macau.

More recently, Huang final tabled the Asia Cup of Poker Main Event in Macau last November. He finished in sixth place for a career-high cash of over $160,000. A top-two finish here would be a new career-high watermark for Huang, but he can rest assured knowing that, bare minimum, he has his first WPT Main Event cash on his resume.
