Three players put in 3,200 each to see a flop of Club QSpade 8Club 6, and it checks to the player in the cutoff, who bets another 3,200. Roger Teska folds from middle position, and Byron Kaverman calls from the hijack.

The turn card is the Spade 7, Kaverman bets 6,000, and the player in the cutoff thinks for a while before he moves all in.

Kaverman calls all in for 32,200 with Spade 5Spade 4 for an eight-high straight with a gutshot straight-flush draw. The cutoff turns over Diamond AClub K for ace high, and he’s drawing dead.

The meaningless river card is the Diamond K, and Kaverman wins the pot with his straight to double up in chips.

Byron Kaverman  –  81,200  (271 bb)
