ClubWPT Qualifier Stephen Galvin Survived a Tough Day 1

Stephen Galvin (left), who earned his $10,000 seat into this event by playing on ClubWPT.com, survived a tough field on Day 1 to finish with 8,800 in chips. As you can see above, Galvin had two members of the WPT Champions Club on his left — Elky Grospellier (center) and Harry Arutyunyan. Not an easy table for your first major poker tournament.

Galvin is back in the field today, but his table hasn’t gotten any easier. Galvin is seated with Dan Heimiller, Brandon Shack-Harris, and again, two WPT champions — Anthony Zinno and reigning WPT L.A. Poker Classic champion Chris Moorman.
