Bay 101 Casino

Four days after this tournament crowns a champion, the World Poker Tour will be returning to San Jose, California for the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star at the Bay 101 Casino. Located in Silicon Valley, the Bay 101 Casino is less than an hour’s drive from downtown San Francisco, and this event is always one of the biggest fan favorites of the year.

It’ll be a five-day televised event (with two starting days) running from March 7th-11th. The buy-in is $7,500, and players who bust are allowed one re-entry before registration closes (maximum two entries per player). Registration remains open until the beginning of Day 2, and last-minute players will begin with 25 big blinds.

As always, the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star will have at least one “Shooting Star” bounty at each starting table. The first player to eliminate any given Shooting Star will receive $2,500 and an autographed bounty t-shirt. There will also be a $10,000 bonus for the chipleaders at the end of Day 1A and Day 1B.

Last season, this event attracted 708 entries and paid the final 72 players. Taylor Paur outlasted them all to win $1,214,200, and even collected the last remaining bounty at the final table.
