A pair of all ins transpire on adjacent tables, one resulting in an elimination and the other in a double.

On the first hand, Curt Kohlberg opens in the hijack and David Tai defends his big blind. The flop comes Spade 6Diamond 5Diamond 4 and both players check.

The turn is the Spade 4 and Tai bets, prompting a raise from Kohlberg. Tai comes over the top for around 600,000 and Kohlberg calls.

Tai: Spade 2Diamond 2 (two pair, fours and twos with a gutshot straight draw)
Kohlberg: Heart KHeart 6 (two pair, sixes and fours)

Tai needs to hit a deuce or a trey to stay alive, but the river comes the Heart J to spell the end of his tournament life.

As the hand finishes, Jack Schanbacher is in the cutoff and faces an open to 85,000 from the lojack. Schanbacher three-bets to 225,000 and the lojack four-bet jams for his effective stack of 1.21 million.

Schanbacher calls with Diamond KSpade K and defeats his opponent’s Spade 9Heart 9 on a clean runout to score the double.

Curt Kohlberg – 3,525,000 (88 bb)
Jack Schanbacher – 2,520,000 (63 bb)
David Tai – Eliminated in 18t9h Place ($27,000)
