Day 1A of the Season XVII WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown has come to a conclusion with the 712-entrant field reduced down to 279 players.

Davian Santana (pictured) grabbed the chip lead late from Frank Russo and Paul Snead as he bagged 318,000 to hold the Day 1A chip lead heading into Day 2 on Sunday, April 14.

Santana is closely followed by Russo (304,000), Javier Zarco (276,500), and Paul Snead (276,500). Plenty of WPT Champions Club members are still in contention as the likes of Justin Young, Frank Stepuchin, James Calderaro, Mohsin Charania, Matthew Waxman, Sam Panzica, Eric Afriat, Dylan Linde, Chino Rheem, Tyler Patterson, Daniel Strelitz, Patrick Serda, Harrison Gimbel, Will Failla, Dylan Wilkerson, Jared Jaffee, David “ODB” Baker, Asher Conniff, Jason Brin, Oliver Busquet, Ben Palmer, and WPT Commentator Tony Dunst all survived into Day 2.
