Day 1A of WPT Nottingham Is In the Bag!

What a terrific opening day of poker we’ve enjoyed here at Dusk til Dawn in Nottingham, as the £1million Guaranteed WPT-500 has got off to a flyer, with 198 entries from 167 players.  

Less than 50 of those made it through the action, which saw players such as Chris Sly, Yucel Eminoglu and Terry Jordon all bust out, but others rise to the challenge of a great standard field and survive. 

Average stack sits around the 130,000 mark, with several players sitting above that for most of the 14-level flight. Chin Chia Koh, Satnam Sandhu and Brandon Sheils cruised along all day, and all three made it through to Day 2. 

A lot of the drama was saved for the late stages, when players’ stacks approached danger territory, each decision possibly the last act of a hopeful’s tournament.  Dan Dimitrov managed to bust with pocket aces to a straight flush, before Vasili Stancu won an incredilbe three-way all-in to not just survive, but suck out his way to an above-average stack.  

These players all face a few days off to contemplate their Day 2 plan while they play the side events here at DTD, if you’re not on the list then you should be making your way to Nottingham for one of the six other Day 1 flights.
