Day 2 of the Season XVIII WPT Gardens Poker Championship has come to a conclusion with the 257-entrant field topping last season’s inaugural mark of 253 as just 50 players remain heading into the penultimate day of play at The Gardens Casino.

Markus Gonsalves (pictured) finished the day as chip leader with 473,000 ahead of Joseph Cheong (451,000), Ali Imsirovic (446,500), Upeshka De Silva (439,000), and Jonathan Cohen (420,500) as the only players over 400,000.

Others to survive into Day 3 include WPT Champions Club members David “ODB” Baker, Tony Dunst, Brian Altman, Larry Greenberg, and Daniel Strelitz.

The final 33 players will finish in the money with a guaranteed $18,825 payday, while reaching the WPT Gardens Poker Championship final table of six will see a $111,795 payout before the final six players take a hiatus until the conclusion of the final table at the HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 31 at 4 p.m. (PT).

A full recap of the day, along with a full list of chip counts and the seating draw will be posted later tonight.
